|
The "Clock" is a very simple but powerful zone offense. It is easy to teach, learn and execute. It incorporates
a basic 1-3-1 free lance passing attack with a few basic rotation rules. Like all offenses the key to success lies
in reading the defense and execution.
The Clock offense gets its name from the outside players clockwise and counter clockwise rotations.
Corner Pass Options: Anytime the wing passes the ball to the corner, the wing cuts to the basket for
possible return pass and shot. Outside players rotate over a spot.
 |
 |
| When wing O2 passes to the corner, O2 cuts to the basket anticipating a return pass from O4. |
If/When defender X5 drops down to help out against wing O2's basketcut, corner looks to feed open post O5. |
Ball Reversal Options: Once the defense matches up against the overload alignment preventing any open shots,
swing the ball quickly and attack the weakside of the zone.
 |
 |
 |
Corner O4 passes out to O1 and cuts to
opposite side of court. O1 in turns makes a quick reversal pass to O3. O3 looks to feed open cutter O2 on wing. |
Anytime the baseline defender X4 steps out to guard O2, O2 looks to pass to O4 on baseline. |
If/When defender X5 drops down to help out against O4's baseline cut, O2 looks to feed open O5 flashing
into the middle. |
Basic Continuity:
 |
 |
| Clock continuity continues. When wing O2 passes to the corner, O2 cuts to the
basket looking for a return pass from O4. O4 looks to pass to O2 on basket cut, post O5 in middle, or passes
back out to O3 rotating up a spot. |
If/When the ball is passed back out to O3 and O3 makes a reversal pass out to O1, intiating the weakside attack. |
