SK Telecom is one of the most successful League of Legends teams in the world. Over the years, they have dominated this game on South Korean as well as the global stage. In South Korea, rarely any team has managed to pose a serious challenge to this superteam that was established in 2002. SK Telecom T1 eSports team is a part of a huge SK Telecom family that include baseball team SK Wyverns and the basketball team SK Knights. Besides teams, this family also includes several individual athletes such as Park Tae-Hwan.
Huge numbers of titles at the world stage, as well as a huge number of domestic League of Legends achievements, serve as a testament to the greatness of this team. Over the years, the team has changed many players, but their work, dedication and excellent coaching staff have kept them at the very top.

History

The SK Telecom T1 League of Legends team was formed by SK Telecom, one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Asia. Initially, the team was formed in order to host a StarCraft: Brood War team. That team played under the name Orion in 2002. Ten years after their first eSports team, SK Telecom announced the creation of their second team, the one that would be competing in the League of Legends competitions.
The original roster of their team included Bok 'Reapered' Han-gyu, Cho 'HoRo' Jae-hwan, An 'MighTiLy' Jeon-uk, Kim 'Raven' Ae-jun, and Han 'StarLast' Jin-hui. The following year, it was announced that SK Telecom will be forming another team which they eventually did in February of that year. However, that only lasted until November 2014 when the company announced the reconstruction in which they united the two teams.
Not even a month after that announcement, SK Telecom made the announcement about their new roster. The new roster featured Jang 'MaRin' Gyeong-Hwan, Jung 'Impact' Eon-yeong, Bae 'bengi' Seong-ung, Lee 'Easyhoon' Ji-hoon, Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok, Bae 'Bang' Jun-sik, Lee 'Wolf' Jae-wan, and Lee 'Piccaboo' Jong-Beom. This marked the beginning of the era of SK Telecom and one of the best League of Legends players ever, Faker.

Current Roster

Faker is still a part of SK Telecom and he has won all that can be won with the team. Currently, besides Faker, SK Telecom League of Legends teams features Heo 'Huni' Seung-hoon, Han 'Peanut' Wang-ho, Bae 'Bang' Jun-sik, Lee 'Wolf' Jae-wan, Park 'Untara' Ui-jin, Kang 'Blank' Sun-gu, Kim 'Sky' Ha-neul. This year, just like any other year, SK Telecom has been one of the biggest contenders for winning the League of Legends World Championship.
As it can be seen, SK Telecom did not make a lot of changes in their League of Legends team over the years. Many analysts believe that together with the fact that Faker is still playing is the reason that SK Telecom has been so dominant in the world of League of Legends.
